11 a.m. – Grades 6, 7 and 8 meet in the auditorium with Pastor Craig leading in a time of Bible study.  Grade 11 meets in the overflow with Pastor David for a learning lab.  Ninth and 10th graders are serving in Children’s Ministries.  Seniors are transitioning to 412 (AEF for college students) who meets at 11:00 a.m.

Core Community (Wednesday Nights)
One Mission:  Clarity on mission helps us identify who we are and what we are about.  Our singular purpose as a student ministry is to be a community of disciples who together make more and stronger disciples (Matthew 28:18-10, Hebrews 10:23-25).
One Community:  We are CORE!  Yes, we have grades 6 to 12 that distinguish us, but we are the body of Christ committed to living out the gospel for God’s glory in our community.  Students, adult leaders and families are united as a community seeking to accomplish the mission of being disciples who make disciples together.
One Night:  All grades meet weekly on Wednesday nights from 7 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. It is our desire to support the family and make it easier for all to participate. While we all meet on the same night, 678 and high school will meet separately in the building for grade specific programming and Core groups. The Core Cafe is open from 6:15 – 6:50 p.m.

Core Training Family Forum (periodically on Sunday at 11 a.m.)
Family Forum takes place periodically throughout the year on Sunday mornings. Our purpose is to proactively begin the conversations that will encourage the faith of our kids and sharpen us as parents. Our primary objective for these times is to provide a non-confrontational environment where we can start talking and continue the conversation all week. Some of the topics we have explored are: Our Family’s Faith Story, The Value of a Family, Conflict Resolution-Fair Fighting, and Sexuality.

Join us as we continue the spring series of Family Forum. Our spring session began on Mother’s Day, and will end on Father’s Day (not meeting May 26). We hope that you will join us as we provide this sacred space for you and your son or daughter to walk with Jesus together. Spring Family Forum topics are as follows.

May 19 – Week 2: The Cell Phone
In the mid-90s a new piece of technology burst onto the scene. The cell phone and smart phone revolutionized the way we communicate. For students, this technology is a way of life. They have never known life without portable technology and feel entitled to it. Students need parental guidance with this powerful handheld world, along with other electronics and social media,  to use it well and avoid the pitfalls it affords.

May 26 – Not Meeting

June 2 – Week 3: Money
Most teenagers make more money per year than most people in the rest of the world. How you manage your money reflects your heart attitude toward God. God’s generosity towards us should compel us towards generosity with others.

June 9 – Week 4: Dating
Every student wants to know…”When can I date?” It is crucial that parents are clear with their expectations. Students need direction and coaching to make wise decisions in this area concerning why, when and who they should date. This topic is too important to remain silent.

June 16 – Week 5: Homosexuality
Times have definitely changed. Our students are growing up in a society that not only accepts but celebrates homosexuality. This issue is not going away and, as Christians, we are faced with the dilemma of how to maintain a moral standard while engaging productively with our world for the sake of the gospel.
