Youth Ministries

The purpose of the TidalWave Youth Ministries is to develop students who will live godly lives that are contagious to others.

In order to do this we focus on five main objectives in the lives of students in the TIDE (grades 6 to 8) and the WAVE (grades 9 through 12): evangelism, worship, fellowship, discipleship and service.

Searching for a Pastor of Student Ministries

Our church is seeking the next leader of student ministries and we are excited to see who God will bring us. SIMA International, the executive search company that brought us Pastor George, is assisting. We encourage members of the church to circulate this opportunity as they feel led. The selection committee is working toward a summer 2010 goal to have the pastor selected and engaged in the ministry. Please click on this link to see the opportunity profile for this position.

Thursday Night TidalWave
TidalWave meets Thursday nights from 7 to 9 p.m. and new teens are always welcome. Sixth-graders meet separately in rooms 504-505. Grades 7 through 12 meet at the church for Life Groups or large-group activities. See the weekly announcement sheet for details.

Sunday-Morning Pods
Pods meet at 9:15 a.m. in rooms 601 to 603 and at 11 a.m. in rooms 601 to 605. Prior to the 11 a.m. pods, the teens meet in the auditorium for worship. Pods are classes in six-week series designed to strengthen students in their faith in Jesus Christ by giving them a well-rounded view of life and truth about God. Jr. High students follow a prescribed path of learning, while Sr. High students have choices of topics. Students are encouraged to attend a worship service in the auditorium or sanctuary at the time they are not attending a pod.

Bible Quizzing
Competitive Bible quizzing helps students grow through Scripture memorization. The quiz team practices on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in room 604. Students compete against teams from other churches at monthly meets.

LifeGuards Ministry Teams
LifeGuard teams are TidalWave's student leadership and service teams. We strongly believe that teens should be involved in TidalWave leadership.

Camps, Retreats and Special Events
At times TidalWave goes on the road for special trips and events. These are designed to help students encounter God in a relevant and creative way and have a lot of fun in the process.
