I’m New Here

Welcome to the Hershey Free Church website. Wherever you are at spiritually – whether you are exploring Christianity or you have been a follower of Christ for years – we want to provide relationships and resources that help you take the next step spiritually. The author of the book of Hebrews states that “we should consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…but encouraging one another” (Hebrews 10:24-25). Clearly, this passage communicates the importance of relationships in our spiritual journey.  As a church, helping people connect with others is a vital part of our mission.

What to Expect Sunday Morning

We recommend you arrive about 15 minutes before the 9:15 or 11 a.m. service starts so you can park and get a cup of coffee at the Coffee Bar in the main lobby. Guests are encouraged to park in the parking lot in front of the church building. [directions] The lot in front of the church is reserved for our guests, disabled drivers and parents taking infants to the nursery. Other drivers can drop off passengers in front of the church and then proceed to another lot. Those attending the 8 a.m. service will find the rear parking lot is closer to the auditorium.

Families with children may want to choose our 9:15 or 11 a.m. service, when the nursery and Sunday school classes are offered.

You may dress casually for all of our services. The same message is preached in all services, only the worship style differs. At the 8 a.m. service, which meets in the auditorium, we mainly sing hymns and are accompanied by an organ. At 9:15 a.m. the worship in the sanctuary features contemporary songs led by a band. At 11 a.m. a piano takes the lead in contemporary worship, backed up by a band. On many Sundays between September and April, the choir is on the sanctuary platform for the 11 a.m. service, and some Sundays the orchestra joins them in this service.

Welcome Centers

When you come through any entrance you will be near a Welcome Center. You will find friendly, informed people there to help you find your way in our buildings. If you have children, they can help you find the nursery, preschool, elementary or preteen classrooms [more] or the gathering place for our student ministry [more].

Dessert with the Senior Pastor

About every six weeks, George and Rose Davis invite newcomers to their house for a Sunday afternoon dessert and get-acquainted time. The dates of the desserts and the Davis’ address are announced in the Sunday bulletin.
