Momspace

MOPS invites you to join in the learning process as together we explore "Momology: The Art and Science of Mothering." Mothering is both art and science. It combines all of who we are to shape healthy, resilient kids. Mothering is so complex it requires both sides of our brain – not to mention our hands and feet, eyes and ears, mouth and (sniff, sniff) unfortunately, sometimes even our noses! Click here to register for the fall session of MOPS. We meet the first and third Thursday of each month starting September 16.

campingspaceThe SALT Adult Education Fellowship (AEF) enjoyed a family camping trip at Gilbert Pinchot State Park the weekend of July 8 -11. The weekend camping trip has become a tradition enjoyed by all. Some SALT “alumni” who have moved out of the area came for the weekend to reconnect with old friends. Activities included hiking and biking, and the group worshiped together on Sunday morning in camp. SALT meets Sundays at 11:15 a.m. in rooms 701 and 702. The group consists primarily of  people in their late 20s to 50s, most with children, but all are welcome. Click here for more photos.

Unemployed? The Career Transition Center is open Tuesdays, 1 to 7 p.m., and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are necessary. Call Paul Dronsfield, 649-6571, for an appointment. The Center offers advice and encouragement to those looking for work or planning a job change. All services are free and available to anyone.

fishingspaceA number of dads and kids enjoyed a morning of catch-and-release fishing at a pond in Elizabethtown on June 17. Tim Cole organized this “Go Wild with Dad” event for the second year. It was a great way for kids to spend time with their fathers outdoors. Other “Go Wild with Dad” activities this summer included handgun training and a clay bird shoot. Click here to see more photos.
