Mary Kelly and Esther Galt had been best friends for nearly 50 years. Over that time, they had spoken of many things, including God and His promise of Heaven. The two friends had a favorite story about dragonflies, just like the ones that buzzed around the Galt’s pond, which stood in a distant meadow.

The Barnabas class Game Night in January was joined by other senior adults and several young-generation classes: Infusion, Theophilus and 4twelve. At one table, players’ ages ranged from the 20s to the 90s with lively conversation and game activity taking place.

Did God really intend for us to be relational beings? Is it OK if I just engage the church as a spectator or consumer? Did God intend for the church to be a school room where people sit and learn about God?

Ron Hoover is hanging up his fluorescent orange back-support vest. It served him well as he lifted chairs and moved tables thousands of times in his 14 years as a custodian at the Hershey Free Church. Ron will retire on December 22.

In an effort to help connect people to God and one another we are designing Life Groups that promote a climate where the possibility exists for Christian community to come to life. We are creating places where belonging and spiritual growth are the norm and not the exception.
