The week of August 12 we held 56 Band Camp for fifth- and sixth-graders who are going to lead worship in our new ministry for fourth through sixth grades. We sang songs, played games, had devotionals about leadership and doing our best, ate snacks and built community. It was a fantastic time!
Bob Karwowski, assistant worship leader, and a great team that included a couple of teens, a few Hershey Free Church staff and two music teachers led an incredible time of worship and training.
The kids divided up by instrument and practiced ‘Blessed Be Your Name’ by Matt Redman. On the last day of Camp, some of the kids played the song alongside our adult leaders and a couple of our staff members came down to worship with us.
As we move into the fall, our plan is to get together one Saturday a month and learn a new song that can be added to our monthly 56 band-led worship time on Sunday mornings.
