When the Weather Outside Is Frightful …

When Old Man Winter is bearing down on Central Pennsylvania, we follow these guidelines to determine whether the church will be open.

Sunday services will usually meet unless a state of emergency is declared for Derry Township, Dauphin County or the state of Pennsylvania. Ancillary ministries, such as children’s classes,  might be closed  even if the services are meeting.

Weekday morning activities will be canceled if Derry Township Schools have a one- or two-hour delay or are closed.

Weekday afternoon and evening activities will be canceled if Derry Township Schools are closed or have an early dismissal. Church leaders may decide to have evening activities if the predicted weather doesn’t materialize. This decision will be made by 2 p.m.

The church office will follow Derry Township Schools’ delay schedule. If the schools have a two-hour delay, the church office will open at 10 a.m. If the schools are closed, the church office will most likely open at 10 a.m.

Weekend activities other than Sunday services may be canceled by church leadership. Closings will be announced via the following media outlets.
